Attenuation system

ATTENUATION STAGES (IN CONTINUOUS FLOW SYSTEMS)

Attenuation stages are installed at the entrance and exit of the processing cavity, which are composed of the first system for the impedance mismatching (metallic cavities with particular geometries on the walls) followed by absorbing loads (hydraulic circuit, radio absorbing panels, etc.) where the possible residual energy can be dissipated. Standard length is 1m and it is possible to customize particular plants.

DOORS (BATCH SYSTEMS)

All the doors are provided with special metallic profile (reactive choke) impeding the microwave propagation outside. Moreover, possible inspection openings (windows, portholes, ...) are protected with particular metallic grids.

Digital devices (or analogical on demand) with adjustable power for feeding and piloting of magnetron (2450MHz, CW) of 1-1.5-2-6kW with continuous wave functioning. EC certified product, available in EU or USA version.

MAGNETRON

Generators of continuous-wave high-power microwaves. Through a thin wire (anode) supplied with high voltage (4000V) and a specific antenna, a coherent microwave radiation with constant frequency (2450±50MHz) is generated and emitted.

MAGNETRON HEAD

Installation and maintenance friendly compact solution, available for various magnetron models of 2450MHz, includes magnetron, launcher and air cooling system.

  • Radiation power: 0.8 / 1 / 1.5 / 1.9 / 2.5 / 3/ 6kW (power from 1, 1.5, 2 and 6kW)
  • Adaptation flange for waveguide (WR340, WR430, WR284 or on request for other sections)
  • Pilot light to signal the beginning of the radiation
  • Prearrangement for the interfacing to the special power kit via 6-pole connecter

LAUNCHER

Profiles produced from high-conductive material (aluminum, stainless steel, brass) with special seat for magnetron antenna (2450MHz, 1-1.5-2-6kW). They are suitably designed and dimensioned so as to allow a maximum efficiency of the microwave transmission.

  • Fixed section linked to the frequency of the radiation itself (adapted to the waveguides WR340 86*43mm)
  • Available lengths: 120, 300mm
  • Possible customizing and adapting to other waveguides on request

TUNER

Components for guides WR430 enable matching load impedance to the generator and thus minimize the reflected power. There are available 3 or 4-stub tuners provided with manual or motored regulation. Tuner is also available in automatic version, in which motored stubs are controlled by a microprocessor for the automatic adjustment to the load.

ISOLATOR

Passive protection component of magnetrons, recommended for a very high-power applications. It allows dissipating possible reflected power (not absorbed by the processed product) on the hydraulic circuit, avoiding over-heating and damaging of the magnetron itself.

  • BNC output for monitoring of the reflection signal
  • Available with output connecter in line or transversal (90º)

WAVEGUIDE

Profiles of high-conductive material (aluminum, stainless steel, brass) designed and dimensioned in a way so that the transmission from the generation point to the application point of the microwaves takes place according to a coherent configuration and with minimal energy losses. The dimensions and the geometry of the waveguides are closely connected to the frequency of the radiation which is propagated in inside the device.

  • Available in the version WR340 (frequency range 2.2-3.3 GHz) with or without flange

CAVITIES

Various configurations of applicators make object of studies, considering the material and the process that the product has to undergo inside the applicator. Subsequently, two fundamental categories of applicators are to be observed:

  • SINGLE MODE CAVITIES
    Metallic cavities characterized by high-density of energy and energy transfer with defined frequency and electromagnetic field configuration, are adapted for reduced-size products since at least two of the applicator dimensions are of the order of the size of the wave length. Maximal applicable power is of 6kW.
  • MULTIMODE CAVITIES
    Metallic cavities of variable dimensions (internal volumes ≥1m3) for batch or in line processes, with any kind of transport (rolling strip, belts, conveyor belts, …) which requires a high power. It is possible to combine multiple heating technologies (hot air, IR, UV) in order to optimize any type of process.

RADIATOR APPLICATORS

Systems of launching microwaves inside the cavity applicators:

  • SLOTTED WAVEGUIDES
    Designed to maximize the energy transfer and to optimize the uniformity of the product processing. It is also useful as it allows installation of multiple magnetron with the aim to avoid interferences and disturbances between different sources.
    Available in various models and lengths with possibility of customization: 3500mm-30slots; 1600mm-18slots, 1300mm-14slots; 1000mm-12slots; 600mm-6slots

SIMPLE SENSORS

Sensors for survey of the electromagnetic field in the microwave cavity.
